What a great time we had at Lee's last night! Joe Savage brought his voice and steel magic and the dancers came out in droves! Thanks you to Lee's Liquor Lounge and Shannon Butler for inviting us to the party!
If you want to swing dance but don't know how to get started check out Shannon's swing dance lessons every Wednesday at Lee's - she'll get you going on your good foot.
Honky-Tonk Jump will be back at the Lee's Wed Night Swing Dance on November 28th 2018 - see you there!
Wow, thanks to everyone who came out to dance and listen last night at the Eagles 34 in Minneapolis! We had a blast and the dance floor was full all night - what could be better? Let's do that again in April!!
Wed April 4 at Lee's Liquor Lounge 9-12pm (swing dance lessons start at 8)
Honky-Tonk Jump is coming out of hibernation on Friday March 16 at the Eagles 34 in South Minneapolis! We've got lots of new tunes, all your old favorites and the same old swingin' dance groove so get your dancing shoes on and get down there. Bring a partner or come find one - they'll be lots of people on the dance floor! All this for the price of a cup of coffee (ok, $10 so maybe coffee at Whole Foods...) and you can dance the night away!
Honky-Tonk Jump played its first dance at the Black Dog on Dec 22 2017! Thanks to everyone who came out - we had a blast! Tom stole the show with his new hat and fancy Scully suitcoat - he’s saving the black and white boots for another night...The music was swingin’, the dance floor was full and the food and drinks were great - what else could we wish for?
Happy holidays to everyone and see you in the New Year!
11/27/17 -Last night Honky-Tonk Jump returned to the Underground Music Cafe and had a blast again! The place was Standing Room Only but people found a little room to dance and the band had a blast, swingin' hard - everyone in the house had a good time! We had visitors from as far away as Hoyt, Kansas and a Texas native who made our night by telling us we could easily pass for a Texas swing band - yeah!
Big thanks to Don Olson and his wife LeeAnn - we invited them on short notice and they showed up! Don whipped into action and took lots of fantastic photos. This man is supporting the music community with his amazing photographic talents - BIG THANKS DON!
We hope you all had as much fun as we did and we look forward to seeing you Friday Dec 22 at the Black Dog Cafe in Lowertown, St Paul 8-11, $5 cover. We'll have the dance floor lots of you have been asking for so grab a partner or just come on down! Get your boots shined up and ready to two-step across the dance floor!
